    Mt. Kanchanjunga and the Far East

    Pick tea from the finest gardens in the World....celebrate the excitement of trekking in the Himalayas, test the rapids of the Teesta and stay in orange counties and organic farms. On the spiritual side, visit old monasteries and learn  more about your past life....there is more that we have to live to believe it….!!!


Day 1

Kolkata - Arrive and transfer to hotel. O/N Hotel

Day 2

Kolkata - Morning Sightseeing. O/N Sleeper Train

Day 3

Darjeeling (2134m) - Arrive NJP. Transfer to Darjeeling.
Afternoon sightseeing to some of the popular attractions of the place.
O/N Hotel.

Day 4

Tumling (3,000m) - We start our trek here. Enroute we pass by the small hamlet of  Mehgma ,an old monastery and a beautiful 'chorten'. The climb is fairly steep and goes through evergreen forests and hillsides covered with wild flowers .We stay the night at Tumling.

Day 5

Sandakphu (3,631m) - The route passes through bamboo glades and quaint little  villages inhabited by warm and friendly people. Then follows a steep climb through rhododendron forests to Kalpokhari meaning the 'Black Pond'. After Bikheybhangyang or the 'valley of poison' at an altitude of 3,108m Sandakphu is another steep climb of 4 kms. This is perhaps the most challenging part of the day’s trek but is also most rewarding as the trail passes through thick forests of magnolia and rhododendron leading us to Sandakphu, the highest point of our trek.

Day 6

Phalut (3,600m) - You can see a spectacular sunrise and a breath-taking view of four of the World's highest mountains, all above 8,000m at an incredibly close distance. The most prominent is naturally the beautifully crafted Mt. Kanchendzonga but Mt. Everest stands majestic soaring above a series of ridges .The stretch from Sandakphu to Phalut is perhaps the easiest but also the most spectacular. The silver fir forests make a beautiful sight together with chestnut oaks and other alpine trees. Magnolias and rhododendrons proclaim their existence as if suddenly emerging out of the mist. O/N Lodge

Day 7

Gorkhey - We return along the Ramman valley to this small village of Gorkhey lying by the river-bed. A splash in the mountain stream is very refreshing after a long trek! O/N Tea House

Day 8

Siri Khola - An easy trail takes us to the village of Samandeen or the 'Lost valley'. From Samadeen another short walk gets us to Rammam .We descent along the small mountain stream to Sirikhola where we stay for the night. O/N Tea House

Day 9

Teesta - A short hike to Rimbick from where we drive to River Teesta. O/N Camping

Next morning after breakfast we test the rapids of the River Teesta. A grade 3 river where one does not have to be a professional rafter to enjoy the small and interesting teasing rapids. Afternoon drive to Gangtok.  

Bara Mangwa
- Drive to Bara Mangwa. Mangwa is surrounded by orange orchards and vegetable farms. The flower gardens, medicinal plants and organic farming are additional attractions to the place. O/N in Eco Huts.
After Breakfast we go for a nature walk visiting organic farms, orange orchards and the neighbouring villages.

Day 10

Gangtok  - Afternoon drive to Gangtok. O/N Hotel

Day 11

Gangtok – After breakfast excursion to Rumtek Monastery which is at a distance of 23 km from Gangtok. The largest monastery in Sikkim was built in 1960 and belongs to the Kargyupa Sect of Buddhism which has its origin in Tibet and is also a fine example of typical Tibetan architecture. O/N Hotel

Day 12

Pelling - Drive to Pelling the second oldest capital of Sikkim. 3 km away from Pelling stands the Pemayangtse Monastery which is a store house of priceless ancient artifacts.

Day 13

Kalimpong – Drive to Kalimpong. Overnight at the Kalimpong Village Retreat.

Day 14

Kalimpong – A nice relaxing day to just chill, take part in farm activities or choose from the optional activities we list for you.

Day 15

Transfer to Bagdora  Airport or NJP Train Station.
